Colebrook Academy Key Club

Year in Review

“Caring—Our Way of Life”

Editor’s Note

Colebrook Academy Key Clubbers has had a great year.  Our Key Club has accomplished so many wonderful things and pulled off some successful projects.  The board has done well this year and soon it will be time to pass the torch on to a new board for next year.  I have really enjoyed my editor’s job of updating all of you on the events that our club does  and the  events that  are in the planning stages.  I really hope that next year’s board will be able to step up to the challenge of doing as good a job as our board has done this year.  I sign off with fond memories of the past Key Club year.

Year in Review

This year our club has done memorable projects that really show what Key Club is all about, educating and helping our homes, schools, and communities.  This newsletter is all about remembering the past Key Club year and looking ahead.  Here is a list of the some of the projects and activities we did this year:

Key Club Pledge

I pledge, on my honor,

to uphold the objects of Key Club International; to build my home, school, and community; to serve my nation and God; and combat all forces which tend to undermine these institutions.

Upcoming Events:

Þ April 8, 9, 10—Key Club convention is right around the corner and for all of you first timers you will have so much fun

Þ April 13—Kick Butts Day

Attention:

Anyone who is signed up to do pages for our scrapbook needs to work on those pages so that the scrapbook can be done in time for convention.  Also anyone who is going to convention remember that you must have your 30 hours, 15 meeting, and 2 Kiwanis meetings before convention in order to attend.  Don’t forget you must have good behavior and good grades too!

District Convention Survival Techniques

Since I know a lot of new people are attending district convention this year I thought I would tell you some tips and rules for convention based on my experience over the past two years.  Convention is a business casual environment so bring clothes that are appropriate.  Gentlemen wear dress pants, dress shirts, and suit coats which are required.  Ladies wear dress pants, skirts, nice tops, and a nice dress for award night.  Another tip I can offer is that everyone should bring a little bit of food  and drinks to snack on in the morning and throughout the day because only two meals are given.  One meal is on Saturday and the other is on Sunday.  There are some rules at convention that must be followed too.  You are not allowed to be in someone’s room if they are of the opposite sex and there is no drinking, smoking, or fighting.  Most of all I want all new Key Clubbers to have a really great time and meet some new friends.
